I have been invited by Vashti Fairbairn, owner and operator of The Music Box , to provide a workshop for the music teachers of this New Westminster based music studio. This workshop is called, "Tips & Teaching Strategies for Working with Children and People with Disabilities", and will focus on my experiences as a music therapist teaching adaptive and inclusive music lessons to people with disabilities. 

The workshop will focus on methods of building goals and objectives that are appropriate for the student, which addresses their personal needs and ambitions with their musical instrument of choice. We will also look at teaching pedagogy, and how that might differ when teaching from a client-centered humanistic approach.

I'm looking forward to this workshop and to meeting other music teachers in our community!
